Daily Synopsis

After twenty four hours of relative calm, Stef's stomach is much more settled; now his appetite has returned and Mr. Bucket returns to his duties as a receptacle for more regular effluent. Consensus is that the calm weather and development of sea-legs, combined with avoidance of ginger homeopathy, has led to the recovery; lessons learned all round.

At the other extreme, the other sick crew-member is put out of its suffering - and ours. The auto-pilot continues to bind up the wheel even when disengaged, and we eventually dismantle the unit altogether. This is an interesting exercise, as it requires complete removal of the wheel; doing this underway in the dark provides entertainment all round, but we manage to execute the manoeuvre without broaching, jibing or losing any vital components, and the night watches return to the humdrum beauty of a moon-lit sailboat afloat on the nocturnal ocean beneath the timeless constellations of the void.

The green tree frog is nowhere to be seen; sadly, we conclude that the sharks must have done for him. We hope that the loss of a fresh meat supply will not prove critical in the days ahead.
